Abydos Built 1905 Cook Welton & Gemmell for Roberts & Ruthven
Mar 1907 – James Barnard, third hand on the Abydos which was lost off Iceland during a heavy gale and snowstorm, all the bodies were washed ashore and were buried in Iceland. He was 31 years of age, married and lived in Castle-street.
